We live in a society that worships those that persevere, setback after setback. Grit that’s shown over months, years, and even decades.
I have mad respect for people who aren’t quitters. But this general attitude from our society puts pressure on those who do want to quit on a goal.
If you value your goal above everything else- and are ready to do whatever it takes to reach that goal, good for you. But you don’t want to get into a mindless rut as you struggle. Periodically pause and reflect if that goal still resonates with you. Make sure you stop pouring efforts into things that don’t feel natural to you anymore. Sure, there’s strength in perseverance, But there’s strength in knowing when to quit too.
People evolve, and so should goals. No matter where you are in life and what your goals are, it’s okay to walk away.
