The Problem with Motivation

Here’s my problem with Motivation.

Whether you seek rewards at work like a promotion, or scroll through motivational content online, you’re essentially chasing a temporary “high.”

It revs you up for a few hours or days. But then you crash and go back to procrastinating. Then you look for more external motivation to get your dopamine hit.

This cycle will make you addicted.

Instead, look for motivation from within. Your drive. Your WHY. What ideas or projects excite you? Doing those activities itself would feel rewarding which would make you want to keep doing it again and again without needing external rewards or motivation.

And THIS cycle leads to sustained peak performance.

So – External motivation or DRIVE – what’s your preference?
