When you’re busy, your first thought is, “Am I not managing my time properly?” But time is limited and our to-do lists are unending. So you’re busy not because you don’t have enough time, no one does, but because you’re poorly managing your priorities.
Here’s an example. My priorities are tasks that get me into a flow state like scripting and shooting these videos. I always manage to make time for them. But tasks like editing these videos often slip to the bottom of my to-do lists – I realized that such non-flow tasks for me aren’t a priority.
So, the next time you feel busy, ask yourself what your priorities are – what tasks get you into flow and bring you joy? Focus on them. Eliminate, delegate, or automate the rest because life’s too short.
