Two Challenges in Hybrid/Remote Work Culture

Positive work culture has always been an intangible force that brings employees closer. But – Remote and hybrid work environments have slightly complicated the situation. Today, specifically we face two culture-challenges at work:

  1. Low engagement. Reduced in-person interaction means weaker bonding.  Encouraging yourself and others to turn on cameras in virtual meetings, sharing diverse holiday traditions, discussing each other’s strengths etc. could foster deeper and more meaningful connections.
  2. Reduced authenticity. Work-life at one point meant having lunch together, water cooler talk, and so on where employees felt safe to go beyond their work persona. Now, we have to build a more inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome to show up as their whole selves at work.

Small shifts in your mindset and behaviors help slowly build a stronger hybrid/remote culture at work. YOU can make a difference.
